Been there done that, I was starting on hill had to turn up it, first time ever on a motorcycle. Hit the curb/wall and rolled up the street, ahh it was funny as hell. Good thing I had a helmet on and tucked and rolled, bruised the shit out of my forearms, well that and the mosh pit at Pantera that night contributed.
People teaching first timers really need to start out with throttle control.
